The MyKE App is a comprehensive mobile application designed to promote the smart city initiative for Kowloon East. It is supported by government (DevB, Geospatial Lab, LandsD, EKEO), venue owners (MTR, Sino/URA) and NGOs (HKBU). The application leverages CSDI geospatial data (LandsD) with Mapxus indoor map and positioning technology. With “Easy Walking” users can find indoor, outdoor, sheltered, barrier-free, and clean-air walking routes according to their needs and preferences.
The function of “Walking Assistant” includes my current location, nearby facilities that are close by and a digital map that may show all of the features users need to get around in Kowloon East. Most stakeholders are looking forward to the extension of this system to cover more venues with indoor navigation.
